These are things that are not taught in school anymore (Civics) so to make a dumbed-down population unaware of how their govt. works (is supposed to work) If people don't know they can be fleeced more easily by tyrants.

The SCOTUS was never going to be the deciding factor of who the president would become. The founding fathers didn't want that. Tyranny by judges is not better than tyranny by a corrupt government. The judicial system is just another part of the government and giving the power to judges to pick the winner is not a good outcome. Anyone who was relying on SCOTUS doesn't understand the implications. SCOTUS ruling Trump the winner would have set a precedent that judges choose not the people.
The only check and balance in the system designed by the founding fathers is the second amendment. That is the true check and balance on a corrupt government. On Jan 6th the government can make the right decision and reject the fraudulent electors thus making Trump the winner or the government can choose Biden as the winner. Pence has the ability to try and position to pick the Trump winner option. If he fails to do so and the houses fail to vote to make Trump the winner, then the second amendment is the only thing left in the constitution to prevent the corruption from taking complete control of the country.
