In the last couple years of her life, my mother in law who suffered from Alzheimer’s - a really prim & religious mid west farm girl who never said an unkind word about anybody - would blurt out the most shocking truths about her family, people she knew from church, etc. She would just say things like “everyone knows the choir director and organist are having a homosexual affair! Do they think we’re all stupid? It’s a damn disgrace and the idiot minister just allows that shit to go on!” Normally she wouldn’t even acknowledge something like that or just say “I’ve got enough to worry about in my own life to be worrying about what others are doing...” Dementia seems to remove a lot of filters and also changes people’s personalities greatly.

Yes, it’s very sad how they get stuck on a loop in old memories that stand out to them clear as day, but can’t remember what they did that morning or the names of their siblings or children. :( My MIL also would tell us all the time that she wanted to “go home”. She lived next door to us in a guest house and she even called the sheriff one night at 3am saying that she wanted to go home and didn’t belong where she was. The sheriff showed up and called us, not knowing we were literally next door and we came over to find she had packed most of her clothes in suitcases and was waiting in the living room in a dress, coat, hat and gloves for someone to come take her home. From what we could find out, she was talking about the farm where she grew up with her parents - she kept insisting that where she was (she had lived there 10+ years) was not her home and she wanted to leave and go to her real home. We started taking turns sleeping on the couch in the guest room after that until she was able to go into a 24/7 nursing facility.
I cared for her for 6 years and see many similarities in her behavior and how Joe Biden acts and speaks, and how it is progressing with him. How that mentally fragile, compromised man was selected to be the pseudo-leader of this nation is a tragedy for us and the entire world. And it’s really frightening how this was allowed to happen.
They ‘chose’ him because they needed to protect him, aka. Themselves and their money laundering's. Funny how their house of cards is coming down.
I had a relative who I only met after she had advanced dementia. She was just the opposite. She was really very pleasant to talk to, as long as you didn't mind her asking you the same simple question (like "What's your name?") 10 times in 10 minutes. Always cheerful, aways happy to chat with whoever happened to come along. But everybody who'd known her before she had dementia said that back then she was really arrogant and insensitive and generally awful to be around.

I think it's actually pretty random. May depend partly on the type/cause of dementia, but many people have multiple causes (Alzheimers, vascular, etc) and are only formally diagnosed with one. I had a relative who was selfish and nasty-tempered her whole life, and stayed that way through several years of dementia. She only calmed down when she was so far gone that she had no idea where she was, what century it was, who the people in the room were, and couldn't remember anything at all from one second to the next.

Honestly, it would help a lot if we just raised the voting age, at least to 25, but 35 would be even better. By 35, most people at least have some perspective that things they used to think were great ideas that would really make the world a better place, are actually dumb ideas that people have fallen for and tried repeatedly, with disastrous results. But even moving it back to the original 21 would be next to impossible politically, at least without a huge bloody revolution and a complete start-over to setting up a new nation.

I would also advocate an upper age limit, probably 75. It would eliminate nearly all of the dementia patients and dead people whose identities are being used in vote fraud schemes, if voter rolls were required to be automatically purged of anyone who had reached/passed their 76th birthday. People who are still alive and mentally competent above that age are rarely employed full-time, and almost never need to be employed full-time, so they would still have plenty of time to influence elections by directly talking to people, doing research on locally important issues and spreading information,volunteering to work on campaigns, etc But they would not be in a position to vote for big benefits for themselves, at the expense of still-working taxpayers. If everybody (who didn't die before age 75) got the same number of years to be eligible to vote, the system would be quite fair.

Trumpdawgy, covid is a virus that has already more than 20 thousands mutations since the beginning of the pandemic (I've read in some reports). However, if Trump got the virus recently, he already has (some) protection for these strains available. It's expected that the vaccine will, the same way, protect people for the strains used to develop the vaccine.
For this type of virus, just like flu, the vaccine needs to be updated every year. Maybe for a future season Trump could take it (if he wants), but why they need to keep bugging him with this thing now? There's no real need. I just think it's ridiculous and they just do it to make him look bad.
