Honestly I think Mitch is more comfortable as a minority leader. That way he can talk big without actually having to lead or make decisions. He gets to say, "vote for me so we can fight the Dems" and then turn around and say, "I had to vote for the globalist pork bill because look, we got a line item or two in there that was good. It's not my fault!"

As majority leader, he has to make the choice between his voters and his standing in the uniparty.
