I'm going to play the Optimist Card (it's so rarely used) and suggest that SCOTUS has been waiting for a case that can't be seen as political, but purely factual in regards to a Constitutional issue. AKA, something that no future Court nor scholar can legitimately piss on them about. AKA, a case that allows them to crush the fraud AND remain impartial - and thus gives them an important legacy. [and maybe Roberts has had enough time to realize Trump will go Nuclear Abe if SCOTUS punts].
I remain confused about SCOTUS punting on the Texas case - from a legal perspective. I get that Roberts is a neocon Never Trumper and a chickenshit, but the lack of dissent from Kav & ACB makes me wonder about whether there's legal reality to Texas lacking standing. But as I'm not a lawyer nor a Constitutional scholar, I fully admit I'm grasping at straws.
I like your take on this. Doomers are losers because they have already beaten themselves in their own heads, instead of waiting to see what actually happens.

6 weeks ago I would have agreed. Now I would bet my last dollar they will avoid this in some slimy way.
My guts is they'll schedule it to be heard after Jan 20 and then say,
"Well, what WI did was unconstitutional, but it's too late now for any remedy, sorry."
THAT would be a very poor choice.
Yeah. That was The Texas case, remember?

If they take it they still rule against trump somehow.
