Who is activating them>? Only Trump can activate the DC Guard, no one else.

UncleSergeant 24 points ago +24 / -0

Great question..........

The DC Guard reports DIRECTLY to the President. The only way the DC Guard becomes reportable to either the Active Duty Army or Active Duty Air Force is if the President activates them on Title-10 orders.

Not to mention the vast majority of DC Guard leadership and rank and file DC Guardsmen are absolutely anti-Trump.

I don't know any more details besides what I posted, sorry. We should be prepared for military presence, regardless.

No worries. Anyone who says the Guard is going to be present has to also understand the command and control hierarchy.

" The District of Columbia Army National Guard is the Army component of the District of Columbia National Guard. As the District of Columbia is a federal district and not a state, the guard is placed under the authority of the President of the United States, unlike most other National Guard units which are headed by their state's governor. Anyone's guess

An excellent question, considering who is in charge of the DC National Guard!

13
ModelMinority 13 points ago +14 / -1

The Guard better open fire on the libtards and BLM.

9
HeavenlyTrumpets 9 points ago +9 / -0

This authority to activate the D.C. National Guard has been delegated, by the President, to the Secretary of Defense and further delegated to the Secretary of the Army. The D.C. National Guard is the only National Guard unit, out of all of the 54 states and territories, which reports only to the President.

LARP.

Active military doesn't know shit about National guard movement & activities unless they're directly supporting them. Unless you're source is a Joint Chief or a high up in Army NORTHCOM, odds are they don't know what the fuck NG is doing nor do they care (as far as their mission goes).

Plus in DC the NG reports directly to POTUS.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if some small level assets are used for extra security measures, but it's not going to be the martial law you guys fantasize about.

It would be an easy bet to assume that a million man crowd in DC is going to have some NG resources to assist.

anon1011101 [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

Not larping at all, this information was given to me by someone who's also willing to be on the ground assisting in DC, he has skin in the game and wants to know what's going on

1
mbarnar 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sorry but your buddy is either leading you on or you're making it up. There is no way a marine combat medic (which as I addressed elsewhere isn't even a real thing) knows about any pre-planned military movements.

Unless your friend is a O-5 or above he would have absolutely no idea

1
anon1011101 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I simplified it for the sake of brevity but yes you're right. I'm not military so the distinctions escape me sometimes. I know the fellow was stationed in CA and trained in Japan embedded with Marines, but I literally have zero reason to LARP and am just trying to share information as it comes in.
My buddy has experience as a private citizen attending BLM/Antifa riots in LA (basically to see what's going on, offer medical assistance like Kyle R, not as a protester) so I have no reason to think his intel about protests is bogus. He offered to fly out and go to DC with me if I needed another person to watch my back and offered a lot of helpful tips on safety in urban riot zones. You sure there's no way he could have found out any of this through the grapevine?

1
mbarnar 1 point ago +1 / -0

Positive. Probably just heard a private rumor.

The national guard activates on a needed basis. So the governor (or POTUS for DC) would request troops, and the guard would provide them.

For something like this, they wouldn't say "hey just FYI we're deploying on the 6th". They wouldn't even notify the units until probably 24-48 hrs prior for a localized activation. The actual units probably wouldn't even know they're being activated until the 2nd or 3rd.

For example, we had to activate some medics to help distribute COVID vaccines, put out the tasking on Friday for a Monday suspense. About 72 hrs

All that being said, it is a VERY safe guess that national guard soldiers will be activated if there's a massive political protest/rally, given the times we live in. But that would be for riot control, not any martial law stuff... Think military response to the George Floyd riots.

So what your buddy was Tell you was most likely speculation, albeit a very safe assumption

Fair enough! Just wanted to clear up that I'm not LARPing, just trying to be helpful. I will verify anything I hear more rigorously before posting

Who is your source?

0
anon1011101 [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

My good friend who is a marine combat medic

1
mbarnar 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well now I know this is a fake. The Marines don't have combat medics... They use Navy corpsman.

I am a medical operations officer in the military who has done joint missions with all branches, I know each branches medical capabilities. So you can take my word for it or also do a simple google search... Marines don't have combat medics.

2

That remains to be seen

But not deployed when active militants are destroying cities. Honk honk. Politicians do not want strong self sufficient people.

2
Wood_Shampoo1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hopefully they'll be deployed to shut down and cucked "just following orders" cops... I've always backed the blue but some of the shit I've seen during covid is disappointing to say the least

Does the mayor have the power in DC? Since it is kinda messed, and independent from the state it exists within

The National Guard's "armory" is about 2 miles from the Capitol. "Armory" is largely and anachronistic term deriving from the post-Civil War. Today National Guard armories are used mostly to house and train the guardsmen when they're on duty, and at other times as a venue for local events. However, most armories are equip with a small armory directly across from the shooting range to store the weapons the guardsmen train with.

Does anyone know if the National Guard's armory in DC actually contains weapons, and if so how much? I'm thinking of the thousands of people who don't come armed and how we can arm them if necessary.

Also, OP is clearly misinformed. Active duty won't know what's happening with the National Guard as they're all reservist. Also we would hear if they were called up.
