I wonder if someone who she considers reasonably hip and with it could just take her aside and explain that she'll pull in way more dudes as tomboy (girl) than as a trans-gay-guy? If a person wants to sabotage their chances in the dating pool, then unconventional trans identities are a sure fire way to do it. The rarely attempted 'trans-gay-male' thing basically means she'd be stuck dating other transfolk or the one in a thousand gay guy who likes men but thinks vagina could be really fun.
