Pence has no political career if he votes against Trump. If he voted against, the VP would still be Trumps VP and blacklisted from everything but whatever public showings were needed from him. With all of the information Pence has, he will do what needs to be done. He knows his role and even with all of the tension of the moment, he will follow through.
Pence has grown on me. I still think he’s establishment, but, you can be and do the right thing as well. Cruz is another example. As for him running in 2024, I’ll have to see how the next 4 years play out and his role in it. This act would secure him a leading spot on the stage though, history books for our eternity as well.
But how would 80 million Trump supporters really make things bad for Pence? Calling his office? Yelling at him when he's in public?
If Pence ends up confirming Biden, he'll be persona non grata with us but seeing how the GOP and the media operate, he'll be okay. Probably a prestige guest on FOX for as long as he wants, suddenly respected by the Left, and probably many years in Republican govt. although not as President.
I hope he doesn't but Pence could absolutely betray Trump.
