You could not be more correct, but there is something far beyond law and order, in spite of how awful that sounds. There is the overall security of the US, because once certain levels of security are penetrated thoroughly, there is a near zero chance to reinstate the pierced integrity. The military complex has been grappling with this and is not going to submit to a compromised Biden administration and they did not arrive at that conclusion on a snap decision basis. It is still a work in process how all this is going to break.
