Make goals and achieve them. Then make a bigger goal, achieve. Set goals thatvwill get him out of there after school. And #1, keep his nose clean. No crime, no drugs. Have self respect and be a solid person.

Someone needs to teach he or she that our chances of survival is based on the knowledge gained from every choice we make. It is the history of our choices, what does and does not work, that has allowed mankind to develop effective survival strategies.

The most successful of these strategies has been the Judeo-Christian faith. Revealed to us over time, it has provided the foundation of civilization. It holds the lessons of right and wrong, and lessons of cooperation and civility that provides a greater opportunity for each generation to prosper.

Stop running with other kids; start respecting and showing interest in the teachers (ask questions, finish homework); find a stable and well-respected adult as a mentor--and when unsure of a situation, go ask that adult their advice; and finally, don't do things that involve the LEOs. That rap sheet will limit possibilities forever. Once out of school, join the military. It's a ticket out of the hood; teaches discipline & routine, chain of command, and respect; and, provides opportunities for education.

That's a pretty tough situation, not gonna lie. I strongly believe however, that in America you can succeed no matter the cards you've been dealt.

For the kid in the inner city, besides having a good head on their shoulders, a huge factor is who surrounds them. The family situation, other adult mentors, coaches: these people need to be good role models and stress the importance of education and integrity. They need to pick their friendships wisely, and avoid the pressure to join gangs and the like to make a quick buck.

As far as academics, they should take the highest level classes available, and get good grades. Sports are also a good extracurricular as long as grades don't suffer. Out of high school, there are plenty of good options. College (depending on the major/career goal), trade school (very good prospects nowadays), military, etc. These are all available with good academics and a spotless record.

A friend of mine was asked this question, out of a car window, by some men. They called out, "Hey! How do you make money?"

His sincere answer was, "Work harder than anybody else, and keep your word.

He can learn to be a man or woman. Read Make use of the 24 hour he has in a day. Help his community and friends be better.

We all make choices, we don,t all have the same luck on our starting point, but we can all make our own opportunities.

I used to say my hands were too small to play guitar, and i really wanted to learn guitar, but man certain notes i just couldnt reach. Then i saw a pan playing with his toes cause he had no arms...

So anyway, make the best with what you have, work hard and you'll get closer to the best you can be.
