CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT CHINA IS BEHAVING AS THOUGH THE VIRUS IS A BIOWEAPON THEY RELEASED. The difference is indistinguishable, and you can skirt completely around whether or not they actually released it, because this includes the possibility that it was an accident. The argument then refocuses around the geopolitical issue: China is taking every opportunity to supplant the West and cement global dependence on it. This then brings into focus how important it is to defend Americans and American industry, and NOT allow compromised politicians into power.

They're changed by the bigger picture of how China is using this to supplant American leadership. They're not changed by the finer details of how a virus spreads and the effects it has on the body.
