Reeeee'ing at masks is good and well, but not at the cost of not being able to support your wife during child birth. There's only one choice here (unless you count making a scene and stressing out your wife as a viable choice).
Same. DH was in the hospital last month. Had to play the mask game to get in the door, but spent the days in his room without mask. I forgot about the "rules" and ended up in the cafeteria without. No one said a thing. Had the mask hanging from one ear and went to the nurses station, started to mask up, I was told it's not a problem. They were reasonable about it.
i never even had to scrub up. i wore my street clothes and occasionally had the mask on (even though there were signs everywhere). its not that im clueless to this mask bs, its that they require it basically in the hallways. they are completely inconsistent with the mask enforcement.
i still think it was weird i was able to be in the room with my "compromised" street clothes, but somehow a mask is sooo important.. hope this charade is over soon, but u have to play the game to watch your kid get born...
I guarantee, 90% of the people giving you shit for the mask don't have kids. Even before covid, I had to do mask, scrubs, the whole 9 yards to be allowed in the delivery room with my wife. It's a hospital.
Don't listen to the kids. You are a man now don't miss the moment. We didn't beat the redcoats by being rigid and stupid. Put on the stupid mask and get past the guards to secure your fam. Wear that shit sideways if you need to but don't miss the moment.
i dont have a choice dude. no mask in the pregnancy ward gets you kicked out. im not missing this moment.

Congrats to you and yours, fen!
