Coffee shops were hotbeds of political activity back in the day.

Cafes rose to prominence in Europe during the late 17th century as a result of their importance in the social sphere, as well as their ease of convenience. While restaurants and eateries specialized in meals, cafes minimized their selection in favor of providing patrons with coffee and affordable admission. This made it especially accessible to the working class to whom the establishments served as a retreat to foster community and promote the exchange of ideas and philosophy. Both a blessing and a curse, this age became known as the Age of Enlightenment.

And don't forget the Masonic Lodges. Covfefe Houses and Masonic Lodges. Combine their powers and you have Thanos-level Covfefe Lodges.

residue69 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you ever get a chance to tour the Detroit Masonic Temple, don't pass it up. That building is incredible in so many ways. I spent a few weeks there snooping around and trying to imagine it in it's heyday.

Because of my time there, I now know that it is 100% legal to own a human skull as long as you buy it from ebau.

2
theDialecticalPlaya 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is amazing! I never knew such a place existed! I don't know if I'll ever get to Detroit, but that is definitely a must see. Now all I need is to find the perfect human skull on ebay to decorate my based masonic-themed covfefe lair. Muahahahahahahaha...

'Allo 'Allo!

In France during World War II, Rene Artois runs a small café where Resistance fighters, Gestapo men, German Army officers and escaped Allied POWs interact daily, ignorant of one another's true identity or presence, exasperating Rene.

6
SKnows 6 points ago +8 / -2

Can't make laws so specific like that. Think long term. What sector actually uses masks. The answer isn't more laws to give the government more power. It's to use existing laws to stop tyrants

3
AdmrlNelson 3 points ago +3 / -0

Everyone just carry a long gun in public. It's already illegal in Texas to carry a long gun and wear a mask.

10
KekistanPM 10 points ago +10 / -0

I wrote Abbott a letter asking him as much. Never got a reply; not even a generic "Thank you for your letter, good citizen" to make me feel like they care.

9
The_kool_mom 9 points ago +9 / -0

We wtote one. Too, asking what metrics need to be met before he will release the "mandate". Didn't get anything in return. Maybe I'll send 50 more.

5
literallyhitler 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well it's required for cities w/ more than 20 cases, so there's one.

I mean, really guys, forget that masks haven't even been shown to reduce SSI rates (the primary theoretical reason they are worn by doctors). Let's make huge swaths of the population wear them in normal every day life to 'protect' against a virus that is clearly not going anywhere, and a non-issue for over 99% of people. Let's drag it out so the healthy cannot acquire immunity within a shorter amount of time, therefore offering a significant blanket of actual protection for those at risk and reducing the number of deaths.

Oh and let's make it so even if you don't actually suffer or die Covid, your business or livelihood will.

edit/

let's royally fuck school aged children too, because why not?

4
bantar 4 points ago +4 / -0

Just one? I write weekly or more. We need to pump up them numbers pede!

We all need to write. Here's the link: https://gov.texas.gov/apps/contact/

Today's letter said.... Thank you for stopping the tyrant in Austin. Now, look in the mirror and stop the tyrant that you see there. [and a few more notes]

I don't get responses. I don't want one. I want action.

I'm especially mad about the bars being targeted when restaurant bars are freely open. I don't drink, but I'm furious about the injustice of these government tyrants.

We need all Businesses in Texas Open NOW. These arbitrary lock-downs are hurting so many. Suicide rates are way up right now. How many people aren't going to the doctor and catching their cancer / heart disease early enough to help?

Haven't been to Austin in over a decade. Heard it has turned to complete shit though. One of the biggest things I miss about Austin is the Biscuits and Gravy at Dan's Hamburgers (there was no Fran's when I last went there).

It's not ending when restrictions lift either. Those people are walking way thinking about how fragile life is, and will continue to do everything in their power to mitigate the risk of losing theirs and even people around them, no matter the cost.

Hell even last year I encountered people at work fretting over what ingredients to put in their perfect protein shake to maximize their health.

It would be great if this fear could be PRODUCTIVELY channeled, like through funding effective research into heart disease, aging, etc. But it won't be.

The one thing I 100% disagreed with POTUS on is using Fauci and Brix, playing in to the theater of all of this, and not saying we're open, here's the facts on false positives, medical fraud, and survival rate.

Abbott won't do shit about this either, and this NYE weekend could have really saved local Austin restaurants.

But hey, we've got pushed a vaccine and not therapeutics because of mUh oPtiCs.

5
DrCowboyPresident 5 points ago +5 / -0

The one thing I 100% disagreed with POTUS on is using Fauci and Brix, playing in to the theater of all of this, and not saying we're open, here's the facts on false positives, medical fraud, and survival rate.

He was totally boxed in. The public was buying the MSM narrative. Despite being lied to and they should have known better, but Republicans mostly bought into it also. Especially the older ones.

If Trump had defied the MSM, they would have buried him with it.

4
ltpayne 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think about therapeutics when I hear sad news of someone dying from covid.. like that congressman-elect in LA.. I wondered, did he get treated with the regeneron antibody? Also, has anyone had HCQ at early stage or any other idea for a treatment.. I always wonder.

Perhaps the nurses were just partying down making a tik-tak video while the guy should have been getting therapeutics instead. Also, what if the nurse was a biden voter? heh.. judging by how ethics went out the door as they were stealing votes for the election, perhaps this could happen in the healthcare industry as well.. And then we have the "leaders" with no ethics either. so they would just turn their had and say nothing happened. It's a pretty terrible rabbit hole when you apply the election fraud behavior of both worker and "leaders" on a wider scale.

8
Assault-Covfefe 8 points ago +8 / -0

I've noticed that as well. I go about my day as a did at this time last year. But places are not as filled as they used to be. I still can't believe that people, smart people, have been brainwashed into thinking going out is a death sentence.

"TLDR - Restrictions need to be lifted, of course. But the real time restrictions needed to be lifted for good was back in June/July. People would’ve bounced back if it was only a few months. But now that it’s been 10 months (and is going to be at least another 5), habits have changed. You could lift all restrictions nationwide tomorrow and it would have little short-term effect. Most people are comfortable cowards, waiting for the screen to tell them what to do."

You hit the nail here. I know people that still wouldn't be comfortable going out if they had the 'vaccine" simply because they're so scared that they could potentially still get it. Sad and scary, all at the same time.

Doe Abbott need to do more than say words?

13
booblitchutz 13 points ago +13 / -0

Seriously. This is EXACTLY how Texas ended up with a “mask mandate”. Some asshole county judges imposed mask mandates and Abbott said “no” initially, then the same judges pressed on and Abbott caved.

Don’t get too excited here, we’re about to get shut down again, if history tells us anything!

Send in the National Guard.

Arrest the mayor, and his communist cohorts.

We need to get serious about dealing with these Marxists. They have openly stated that there will be no co-existence. It's either them or us.

BallsackPaneer 10 points ago +10 / -0

Don't be fooled. Abbott is a RINO bitch. Look no further than Kristi Noem if you wanted an example of a based governor that upholds the US Constitution.

He's another example of a long string of Republicans that listen to pleas of their cucked advisors to not oppose the mask conventional "wisdom".

2
MerchantMan99 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can you imagine if EVERY governor behaved like Noem? It would be a golden era.

8
ProdigalPlaneswalker 8 points ago +8 / -0

The city has a responsibility to enforce existing orders

leans into mike: Wrong.

Both city and state must uphold The Constitution. Stop violating our 1st Amendment right to assemble!

Maybe we should let Austin do it's covid shit. Be like California. Then go riding through the libshit areas in front of their whole foods and chipotles with coal rolling, confederate flag waving, mud covered lifted trucks and open carry in the back.

Have em running back to California like the locusts they are.

Fuck Abbot and his faggot fucking mask order. I'm fucking sick of minimum wage workers telling me to wear a fucking face diaper. Fuck this shit and fuck his chances of ever getting another term.

3
9_Milli_Pede 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fuck Adler. Weasel piece of shit for legalizing public camping and ruining austin. I visited there recently after being gone for many years. There are camps everywhere, crackheads and bums defecating all over. They are definitely using the portland/San francisco/La techniques here. First establish a vagrant problem wherever you want real estate to tank. Then buy up real estate for cheap after they ruin it. Supply the bums with drugs and reinfect wherever neccessary. Then gentrify with constituents of your preference... This is the demoncrat way....

3
KonyHawk_ProSlaver 3 points ago +3 / -0

"move to Austin! It's so cool and hip"

3
trauncher 3 points ago +3 / -0

Send in the state police and ARREST that criminal Mayor.

Oh how I wish Michigan had a governor with an understanding of the Constitution.

Frau wHitler does the exact opposite. She uses lower-level flunkies as her winged monkeys to go do her evil bidding.

2
RedSocks157 2 points ago +2 / -0

Now if only dewine had a spine. Abbott still cucked out on masks, but this is a positive development regardless.

2
boogerbritches 2 points ago +2 / -0

Get ready for them to twist this into a “bathroom bill” NC had a rogue mayor and somehow at the end it was all the Republican Governors fault

2
invalid_data 2 points ago +2 / -0

Texas frens, please write and call Abbott and demand he end this nonsensical mask mandate already. I just wrote him and explained how masks a pointless proven by no peer reviewed outlet to be effective and are only good at destroying our liberty and on top of that our humanity. Please write and call Abbott to tell him to end the mask mandate. https://gov.texas.gov/contact
