This is so true. I once had a job teaching in a school run by old former Russian Commie immigrants. Those people are crazy in a way you can't fathom. It's not garden-variety crazy, like black is white or up is down. It's like black is square and up is marmalade - totally untethered from reality. You can't explain it but it's crazy-making and soul crushing and I had to quit before I lost my mind. And it is deliberate. Now we have American parents passively accepting "drag queen story time" - WTF??? This guy sums it up so well. Pedes, if it feels insane, IT IS. Let's call it out!

Text of the meme:

Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

Here's the interview that quote came from:

They're both great people well worth reading more from.

I hate it that older FrontPage stuff is no longer available at their site, and is not available on the Wayback Machine.

I had a similar thought about all of this - there is so much in-your-face blatancy of lies, dehumanization and insults, but I wasn't able to connect the dots. Of course, it makes sense.

However - propaganda has multiple purposes. It is meant to convert people into adhering the ideology, keep the chains maintained and subjugate their political enemies.

It is meant to shape the perception of normalcy. To make absurdity and falsehood a normality and sanity and truth an abnormality.

Yesterday’s Dan Bongino show featured an article by Victor Davis Hanson, I believe it was called “A guide to Wokeness.” It was outstanding! And it was such a good explanation of the above. Basically because progressives have no real viable policies, they get votes by creating enemies that they then need to protect you from. They create these enemies by using language. The example given in Dan Bongino‘s show was “anti-racist.” Now it’s not enough to merely treat people fairly. You must declare yourself an anti-racist otherwise you are by default a racist if you are not actively fighting against racism every day. Therefore you are an enemy.

I've asked several dedicated mask wearers, "If tomorrow the gov't said the virus was gone, would you stop wearing a mask?" Their response has been no. I follow up with, "You started wearing one that fast". They're in love with being scared.

The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name.

this ties in exactly with what JBP says about speaking the truth: the ussr was able to exist simply because people acquiesced and repeated the lies, even though they knew they were lies.
i truly feel that his advice, 'never say anything that diminishes you' is some of the most solid i've ever come across.

He has an interesting background. Theodore Dalrymple is a pen name, his real name is Anthony Malcom Daniels.

His father a communist, his mother a jew and a Nazi refugee. He's an atheist and a conservative.

3
Orwellthatendswell 3 points ago +3 / -0

He also spent his career working as a doctor in prisons and hospitals in low-income areas, both in the UK, and Africa.

Unlike a lot of cultural critics, he's been in the trenches.

'To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself'

-Best part, in my opinion.

Orwellthatendswell 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's like murderers who say the first one's the hardest, but it gets easier from there.

Propaganda forces cowards into becoming liars. But then, rather than be struck by lightning for their crimes, they instead get rewarded for their compliant lies. They lose their fear of lying while becoming afraid of telling the truth.

Sooner rather later, they start to find lying easier and easier, until it just becomes automatic.
