Yeah I was nervous for a week or two because one of the first things they did was suck in the conservatives by immediately spreading rumors about atrocities in China. That immediately gets the attention of conservatives who are predisposed to distrust China. Remember, originally it was the liberals who were pushing back and telling people to go to parades and social functions and to not listen to President Trump’s supposed xenophobia and racism.
So they sucked in conservatives first, then liberals do what they always do, which is seize an opportunity to blame the president for something, and to be afraid of whatever they are told to be afraid of. Boom now you have a population that is overwhelmingly afraid. They had the bipartisan fear they needed, but with non-commies it only lasted a couple of weeks.
A lot of people started to realize that they wouldn’t even know that there was a pandemic if they didn’t live in a nursing home, have a relative in a nursing home, and didn’t watch TV. We also naturally suspected the media because lying is all they fucking do 24/7. If the media had told us that COVID-19 was bullshit, we would’ve believed it was real. People aren't used to being exposed to this type of info, so there's no baseline. Every time cases went up, the entire thread is panic and blaming the science-deniers for being maskless.
At this point, they're tracking the annual flu and don't realize it. That's why it's spiking for us. This flu spikes all the time in the winter. But they think we're all about to die.
Yeah what really freaked me out was checking the Coronavirus map from john hopkins every day. Dreading the day my state would get it's first case. I was full on panicking until late April/early May because my 1 year old son is high risk (complications at birth, had pneumonia at 1 week old). Thankfully children have very strong immune systems and this virus is not that dangerous to younger people. Once May came and I saw hospitals were NOT overrun (or even close to it) and the death rate dropped to under 1% with more data I realized that it was far overhyped.
I was never afraid of it, hardly get the flu and haven't been conditioned to get flu shots every year so I figured if I get it'll suck for a week but whatever. Didn't buy a mask until people inside shops would follow me and demand i put it on so I only wear masks when I go indoors. The scare I got was when my mom got covid for 2-3 days i worried then i called her asked how she felt and she told me she was fine and was enjoying her down time to tend to her garden. No shits given since then.
I've emotionally been over covid since june but society has really let me down, we are really a society made up of weak men and women. Its disgusting how much people have ceded and continue to this new millenium.
