I had mine in the other day while grocery shopping. I saw lips moving, saying stuff, just walked right past them. For the checkout I made sure to get only $50 of food, tap the card and I was out. Hehehe

I'm 6'4 225lbs big and ugly and have never worn a mask. Not one person has said a word to me, I see them look but no one has said a word. Basically if u have 1 ounce of muscle on you they won't speak, they know there place amongst real men.
I walk right past them, I'm a grandmother. If and when they approach me while shopping, I will leave my cart and head to another store. I have gleefully eliminated WalMart and other big box stores. Boycott them. Sometimes I am the only one in the store without a mask. What are you afraid of?! If you are that afraid of being approached for not wearing a mask, then all hope is lost.

In Canada we just got slow or elderly people who act as greeters, standing with a bottle of sanitizer asking "you wanna squirt?" They're slow so the trick is to bolt in before they walk over.

Best time was when I walked in, they asked me if I had a mask while offering me one, I took said thank you, put it in my pocket and walked on in. Their face was priceless 🤣.
Wearing headphones in public is one of the most dangerous and stupid things you can do. Especially if you're doing something that will antagonize others.
Be aware of your surroundings. That includes hearing. Be able to act and to react. Do not disable yourself.
Sound Advice
The beauty is if you wear them, you don't have turn them on. Just give the blank stare and keep moving.
If they try to approoach you, back up! Make them keep the 6-foot distance.
