I have Brave and uBlock. There are things the basic built in ad-blocker doesn't get, and uBlock has better targeting for getting rid of specific elements that aren't blocked by default, like those faggot ass banners under Youtube videos.
Don't forget NewPipe! You have to download the .apk on their website as they are not welcome on the Play Store.
It's a YouTube third-party client that hides all ads, including those playing before/during a video, and lets you do everything the premium version of YouTube let's you do such as download videos, play in background, play when screen is off...and much more than YouTube's own premium service.
It uses a web service that browses YouTube's web interface on your behalf. YouTube never gets your data even though you can build your own playlists, favorites, and stuff. No account required, only downside is you can't comment.
EDIT: Oh and Bromide is great as well, better than Brave even. It's a privacy focused Chromium based browser with built-in ad and tracker blocker. No Google piece of code in it and super secure. Brace always felt, to me, a bit bloated.

The uBlock and Brave combo is incredibly good. For your Android or iOS device use Blokada. It is amazing!!

I ditched newpipe because it couldn't find a single thing I searched for.
