...Every objection shall be made in writing, and shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof, and shall be signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives before the same shall be received. I'm a bit confused how the process works after objections have been made. Both the HoR and Senate debate, decide, vote whether the objections are valid? Then what happens?
That is the law outlining the process. The method to object seems clear, the resolution of objections is quite wordy and need someone smarter than me to explain it.
It seems to go off an a separate tangent about questioning whether or not a member of the electoral college is legally/lawfully certified. I don't think that's relevant to what were concerned about
So what is the concern? Do we care if senators object ? If they object they should do it correctly lest the objections are dismissed for procedure violations, which happens.
Exhaust every rule. Then turn to alternative measures when rules are not being followed
