Can someone ELI5 what this means. I get that it's good Hawley is in the mix on contesting the election results and it's now a bicameral issue for Congress, but does a senator jumping in now make this significantly more of an issue? I would have assumed this is something where a majority is needed to call the election contested, but do they just need one rep and one senator to start some kind of process?

Yes.. I believe you need 1 from Congress and Senate for each State and it kicks in after 2 States get both objections.
