How I look at it: I traded away some of my life to work for a stated amount of money in order to buy an item. If you attempt to steal this item, you, in effect, are stealing a portion of my life I will never have back. By stealing my limited time on this earth, you will be shot/killed/stopped. That’s it. I value my life and time on earth more than your desire to take my shit.
it's not your things, it's your sanctuary being violated. your personal safety and that of your family. it had nothing to do with objects, it has everything to do with ensuring you and yours are not harmed.
