I remember when Walmart used to make a big deal about buying Made in USA products - that was a loooooooong time ago.
Right after 9/11 they splattered MADE IN AMERICA signs everywhere. Now it's rare to see anything MADE IN AMERICA. BOTTOM line profits over people. They took away holidays, holiday pay, raises, bonuses, reworked PTO and sick time so horridly it's worthless. Every 30 hours you work , gets you 1 hour PTO Sick time previously accrued before the changes is now locked up and unusable. You can't use it, and you can't cash it out either. It just shows up on your paycheck. I'm not there any longer , but friends who are still there tell me it's gotten even worse

The real issue is that it's cheaper to ship this stuff here than it is across the country. I did some messing around in e-commerce and it's just nuts. Product A from China is 75 cents including delivery or the same product made in America is $9.99 including delivery. Our epacket system here supplements Chinese commerce in America. This country is cucked and fucked.

Thing is - companies suck China's dick for "access" to their market only until such time someone with "connections" has time to copy and emulate their business at which time Walmart will get kicked out of China.
Microsoft went big into China - had all their IP hacked and then got booted out.

As someone who works in the poultry business, all of the big players are under massive scrutiny right now because of alleged collusion. Been a series of massive lawsuits going on for many years at this point.

I see you may have also had an IT Project in Bentonville, AR. It seems like Indians are a majority in that town. This shocked me, even as seasoned consultant who had already worked on countless projects at large companies. Any honest person who works in “big tech” will tell you most major “American” companies are abusing the hell out of the H1B visa programs and giving the finger to Americans.
Turns out I hadn’t seen anything until I worked on a project at Walmart; the town’s population was all imported by Walmart.
