The Japanese were cruel but the Korean were more cruel. The Japanese used them as henchmen in the Philippines. Stories of throwing newborns and bayoneting them on the way down abound.

I've visited Corregidor a few times and I always get emotional when I hear of the stories of Americans who were stuck there and died defending the island and therefore defending the capital city from invasion by the Japanese from the sea. I'll never forget their sacrifice.
