It is horrifying that many people in CA say that they voted Trump and think CA would go red if there was an investigation. Why is nobody looking into states like NY and CA?
The electoral college is a firewall, a bulkhead door. Its purpose is to seal off and contain the crime incentive in areas that otherwise could have so much vote fraud (whether by illegals, faulty machines, forged ballots, blackmail, dead voters etc) that it can wipe out and disenfranchise the whole nation.
Its to stop democrats claiming some single shithole city like portland has a billion votes for biden (or the next anointed traitor in line) turn up in a suitcase that no-one is allowed to see.
Of course the party that depends on crime and fraud is going to want to spread that crime and fraud everywhere.
National popular vote can never be a thing, because it would enable specific states (PA, CA, NY , etc) to commit mass election fraud, that would make the 2020 election look clean by comparison.
We need a full-on revolt in California, which will not be possible without real leadership. My guestimate is that it'll take a few years for such leadership to emerge, but we shall see. It's not a sprint, as President Trump said: "WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT!!!"
