Not to worry, as the demand grows, more reserve I.C.U.’s will ‘become available’. But not before the industry demands more budget dollars from congress for unneeded expansion. Taxpayers will get soaked again.
We were at a larger hospital in a ground-zero lockdown major metro region this past month.
The ICU was nearly empty.
The ER had two people in it, one complaining of a bellyache. Lots of empty beds. Staff were mainly standing around, and making phone calls.
Meanwhile, all the fake news waiting room TVs were hysterically wailing on about the 'covid surge'.
It is all fake.
