Looking at it on the positive side, it's because the site is really popular and constantly growing. There are enough fresh eyeballs that they can get away with it, and somebody new will believe the "BREAKING!" update.

Looking at the negative side, I wish people would either source these things credibly or only share in extremely qualified and "asterisked" terms - if at all.
