Dear Mr. McMillon, The disrespectful tweet “accidentally” posted to the Walmart twitter feed today is unacceptable. Many of the folks who shop on your stores do not in fact think it was accidental, rather it belies what many of us “nobodies” who shop in your store and invest our retirement plans in shares of your company believe—that you power-brokers at the top of society are elitist and dismissive of us without connections or power. You have made a grave mistake here. The accidental tweeter should be fired, and a serious apology should be made to your customers by yourself and the board. There are scores of millions of people in this nation who believe that election transparency should not be a partisan issue. Isn’t ”alienating your customer base” taught at HBS? You saw what happened to Fox News. Don’t think it can’t happen to you as well. You have lost a customer. 😡
