Be very careful in putting your faith in anyone other than Trump. Pence is a creature of the establishment and has been for a very long time. Actions will speak louder than words in his case. Remember we were wrong about every Mitch supported nomination. Every. Single. One. Pence is a Mitch guy. Odds are unless Trump got to him, or a little bird told him the deep state will go after him after he is out, only an act of the states decertifying will force his hand.

Yes, I do agree with you. I am prepared for anything on the 6th. My guess is that the militias will be the first to strike, declaring autonomous zones, etc. We then will be able to rally behind them and join the fight.

Now in theory, since Pence isn't doing anything else, if he gaveled out and stayed there they couldn't appoint somebody else. They could if he was acting president, or indisposed or whatever. But I don't think there is a mechanism in the constitution for them to simply have somebody else do his job otherwise. Nor in the Laws on the voting, which are all old and confusing.
And some may well be unconstitutional anyway.
No matter what happens, nothing is sealed in stone until 20 January. And even that date can change. And a lot can change in terms of certification between the 6th and the 20th if those of us working hard in AZ and others elsewhere can get our votes decertified or rescinded. But everything at this point has no precedent, we are making precedent as we go along.

You are assuming that the Electoral Act is constitutional and binding. First, even if that is true, it doesn't prevent Pence from putting that to the test by defying it and forcing a SCOTUS hearing. Second, the wikipedia article itself includes the reasons why many constitutional scholars doubt if the act is constitutional.
I really hope you are correct. I can easily see how you are. The key to you being correct is for Trump to have something so overwhelming that the entire country would rise up in fury if they found out. Then, he would have to extort the swamp to vote his way. Further, it would have to be more than just your typical filth on Biden. It would have to be something that would threaten their turn at the slop trough if they didn't vote against Biden. Man - that would be the absolute MOAB of truth bombs!
I don't think SCOTUS can overrule Pence on this matter. His authority in this is plenary. He has THE final say.
