While that’s true, I think there’s genuine comparison to be drawn out. The heavy-handed enforcement of nationalistic media, the government intervention and nationalization of industry, the disdain for contrary political discourse. Yes, the ideologies themselves and vision for their own people are dramatically different (you’re right, China is a hellhole for the average Chinese compared to 1930s Germany for the average German), but the actual governance bears some similarities that at least the left should have interest in identifying if they’re intellectually honest (yes, we know that they’re not).

I don't know where you get this. The ideologies are almost identical. Both are national socialist and both are extremely racist and seeking more land for their people. The only difference between the two nations is their terminology.

Communists actually use their own people as a weapon to foment power. In NatSoc Germany they had the best living conditions of any European country despite just recently throwing off the decay of the Weimar Republic. Prior to WWII Adolf was seen as a visionary across the world. That was never the case with Mao

Adolf was seen as a visionary only to leftists who all wanted to copy his economic policies, especially FDR. Even today most leftist economists still secretly admire Nazi Germany.

The truth that we know now is that Hitler completely bankrupted the country running on pure debt and was at the point of default and food shortages, that is why he HAD to go to war, just for his country to survive. All socialist economies are the same, the only thing they are good at is war.

Finally, it is relevant that almost all national socialists and fascists you talk to today (and by that I mean real fascists, even the Mosque shooter in New Zealand for example) all think the Chinese form of government is the ideal form of government for the world.

Where did you get this idea that he bankrupted the country? Germany was already deeply bankrupt during the Weimar Republic because of the absolutely brutal requirements placed in the Treaty of Versailles post-WWI. He literally created a new currency based on work and said a metaphorical “fuck you” to the international banking cabal. The same one that is still around today. WWII was a banker war. Massively stark contrast to Mao
