So, if i decide to come I wouldn't feel so scared knowing people with that kinda heart had my 6. after I talk to my parents tomorrow & prepare them for this. I mean, I just turned 38 two weeks ago. I don't need to ask permission but my sister died 5 years ago & I'm there only child. So, they are super concerned about my well being. But I think they'll understand. I was thinking of literally driving all night to arrive that morning & then leaving by the afternoon & start driving back home. I would stop & sleep if I got tired. The plan is to leave the gun in the truck. The gun is for the sketchy, road stop/ gas stations along the way.
Oh! see I was thinking that if I'm armed & they see it, it would stop someone from thinking about trying to abduct me. I really dont want the cops to see it, different states, different laws. It's legal to carry in OK. I'm trying to be out of the city way before dark. Boning out early to dodge traffic.

be careful where you pull over to sleep. i only stop at turnpike rest stops (with restaurants etc). i pulled over to a gas station in the middle of nowhere to sleep once and was awakened by a man standing by my driver side window. luckily it was a cop, but if it wasn't, i imagine i would not be typing this.
Yes! Wheh I was a kid, my parents stopped at McDonald's in okc, maybe it was a rough neighborhood, I can't remember, I was young. But some dude came up with a knife & said gimme all your money & my mom reached in the console & pulled out a tiny gun. Throughout my life my parents didnt carry guns. Never dad. But this time there was one & the dude walked away. Surreal

Freedom is dangerous and inseparable from danger. You might get trafficked or shot where you live. You can do it on your own, and it might be more dangerous, but you might like knowing that you did it on your own. Or you can reduce the danger (including the risk that you fall asleep at the wheel trying to drive all night x2) by traveling w/other pedes. Also, FWIW, red heads are trouble; that IS the color nature principally uses to signify danger - maybe everybody else should be thinking "I hope I don't get shot by that red head."

Hi fellow female redhead! I wish I could go but my parents would for sure never let me for the reason yours said. I would suggest to make sure you meet up with a large group of people as soon as you get there. Make sure you don’t walk the streets there alone, or bad people could attempt to make you a target. Carrying a gun is a good idea. I’d also suggest pepper spray. I carry one on my keychain on a daily basis. Finally, I wouldn’t drive there alone at night. You want another person in the car or daylight on your side in case you get lost or in an accident. And make sure you have a physical map in case gps fails. Best of luck and be safe!

I wouldn't do that. It's not safe to 'drive through the night' and just sleep wherever, even if there wasn't a rally and if you weren't a Trump supporter, and if you didn't have a gun in the car you planned to sleep with, and if you weren't female. So, if you just add those other things together, it doesn't make sense to me. Why is it not an option to spend $80 for a motel? Where do you plan to stay when you get to DC? It's too cold to sleep outside and motels will be multiples more expensive there. If you have no money for 1 night so you don't crash or fall asleep at the wheel how possibly will you make it for multiple days? Rally will be online too which is free to watch. Just some thoughts.
Ya agree with this. Let's not put ourselves in shitty situations from the start. Either have a plan to sleep safely somewhere or just watch from home. There's hardworking people and families on the roads too.
Oh I have money. I will get a hotel if I need to & if there are any available, but my truck is pretty big & double cab & safe too. I'm just scared to be in DC after dark. And I'm really not excited about my truck being parked In the city at night. Also, I just assume since I'm so behind on deciding to go that there will be anywhere to stay.

Having said that, PEPPER SPRAY would be a great tool to have in your arsenal. I've heard the pepper spray gel is gnarly. I got some at Academy. Idk if you have Academy (sporting goods and outdoors store) in OK. Please someone chime in if pepper spray is illegal in DC because apparently everything else is.
Pepper spray and stun guns are legal. No brass knuckles clubs etc. DC Carry laws That site has excellent info for interstate travel with guns. The link each states actual laws.

Check local laws regarding concealed carry before you consider taking your gun. if you get pulled over and they find that gun you're probably going to go to jail because, iirc, DC is a gun-free zone (which goes a long way to explain why crime there is so bad). Iirc there are several groups of MAGA ladies that are organizing for mutual protection while at the protest, don't have any links offhand. Maybe try contacting your local proud boy chapter and seeing if they're aware of anything that might be able to help?
No legal open or concealed carry in DC without going through their permit process. That is why this protest is so important, hundreds (thousands?) Are risking arrest and felonies to save our Republic.
Read on the website I linked, for each state of travel their rule of transport. Be safe. Remember using guns for protection, that surprise can give you the seconds needed to survive. Don't draw until absolutely necessary.
I went on the 12th Dec. Going again the 6th. Most states have travel rules that allow locked, unloaded, separate ammo. Do you have a carry permit? Most states have reciprocity not all. Here is a site that tells you where your state ccw is valid. CCW LAWS Looks good anywhere you might go but Illinois and MD. I used a keyed pistol lockbox that has a cable around a seat support then slide it under the seat. Mount it out of reach.

22–4504.02. Lawful transportation of firearms. (a) Any person who is not otherwise prohibited by the law from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be permitted to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry the firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry the firearm if the firearm is transported in accordance with this section.
(b)(1) If the transportation of the firearm is by a vehicle, the firearm shall be unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported shall be readily accessible or directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the transporting vehicle.
(2) If the transporting vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment, the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console, and the firearm shall be unloaded.
(c) If the transportation of the firearm is in a manner other than in a vehicle, the firearm shall be:
(1) Unloaded;
(2) Inside a locked container; and
(3) Separate from any ammunition.
Few things to think about: Weather, at night black ice and limited visibility can cause issues.
If you need to sleep, sleep in a crowded rest area preferably in the back with tinted windows if you have them. If you just pull over and crash you have a few issues that you open yourself up to, including attempted robbery, or other motorists plowing into your vehicle (known both to happen).
If you don't have any roadside package on your insurance, think about signing up to AAA, they have a 48 hour breakin period, but depending on location, I know our AAA Club has 3 packages, Basic (5 miles towed, free jump start/fuel delivery/lockout), Plus (100 miles towed), and Premiere (200 miles tow).
The fact that you have to ask though, I'd support the other pedes decision and see if you can join others, maybe find something local, and pitch in for half the expenses or whatever so that way you got a ride there and back.
I think womenfortrump will be there. Try connecting with them, someone posted something similar a week ago and got a reply saying to look for womenfortrump flags, they'll be in groups for 50 for safety.
