You can’t kill state property. You can only destroy it.

She hates children, wants them banned from restaurants. She is over 70 and filled with such hate and selfishness. And of course she is a rabid anti Trumper.

If children are assets, then women are means of production.

Enjoy your communist utopia, cat lady.

Well, I wouldn't normally agree with publicly mocking people, but I suppose exceptions could be made.

Why would ANYONE want a child to give it to the state? Are these leftists THAT disconnected from all humanity that they don't understand that a child is the ultimate act of love. The consolidation of the relation between a man and a woman, the manifestation of their love through the creation of another human being bearing half of their genes, recipient to all their experience, knowledge and culture. The continuation of themselves. Together, bound for all eternity into one vessel, for posterity, even if death do them part.

Well that's the thing, she doesn't want a child. Instead she want's to take control of yours.

Somehow, I doubt this woman has any children of her own.

Perhaps instead, we should make it that only those with children can vote.

She had 4 husbands.... all ended in divorce.... and you are correct no children. She hates children.

Pretty apathetic to think WE THE PEOPLE have no power to set things right. Trump is awesome but you're sending the wrong message op.

I don't know. I can't be sure of the meaning just by seeing the title. I searched the web, but it seems that that article is not on the web. But the writer Janet Porter seems to be British. So, the "state" in the article is not the "state" that American are thinking of. It probably means, the country, i.e., the UK.

And "asset" doesn't necessarily mean some kind of expandable tool or something but could mean something like a valuable human resource or something. So, the whole title could mean something like basically nothing more than "Children are the future of our nation".

It was written for the UK ‘Independent’ but the article was NOT meant for the UK only.

It caused such anger from the public it has been removed from their online articles.

She hates conservatives, Trump and children. Feel free to read some of articles and you’ll see. Lions4Trump and I posted 2 more from archive in the comments here.

I didn't assert that she meant "children are the future", but just "could". Without reading the article itself, it is not possible to judge what the title means. But well, I guess I can believe your saying that she hates Trump; a lot of British media attack Trump unjustifiably. Even the BBC, which is supposed to be neutral.

She is a Brit. A consistent hateful far leftist with a horse and potty mouth and provided with too large of a podium for her own good.

State means British Gov.

I agree with your first bit entirely.

Not the 2nd. She is a globalist and wants the same for all children whom she clearly doesn’t like. Not just the UK. She is rabidly anti Trump.

Honest question here, I'm not trying to make fun of you, but is English your first language? Your username suggests you may be French, but of course, who can tell?

Anyhow, I can't imagine anyone suggesting to think of children as "state assets" when they simply mean children are valuable to the nation.

Also, I think most conservatives will think of "the state" in that context as referencing the government, and probably the national government, not "one of the 50 states of the United States". When people with a libertarian bent talk about government overreach, the term "the state" is used very commonly.

sacrebleu 1 point ago +1 / -0

No. Not English, nor French is my first language. The user name is something I randomly chose because I could not think of a good one.

I knew that "state" can mean the country even in American English, like "the separation of the state and the church", but when I first saw the picture, I thought the "state" would mean a US state in that context.

I am not sure if the word "asset" carries any negative meaning. I think I have heard the media saying "The children are valuable assets for the future of our nation" in my country in my native language, encouraging people to reproduce (because the birthrate has been really low since the 1990's), and I don't think any people were angry about that phrase. Without reading the article, I cannot judge what exactly she meant by the title.

"State assets" is a common phrase for something owned by the government. Assets isn't a negative term, it just means the same as property, so it would be like saying "the government owns children".

sacrebleu 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, if it is "property", it does not really look good, because, if my perception is right, that implies ownership, like a master-slave relationship. I thought "asset" has a similar meaning to "resource", but more tangible thing like money, because I see that term used a lot in software as in image/sound/video/text files that belongs to a project file, which is also sometimes called resources.
