This is why the local pre-meetups are essential. DC is a somewhat small diamond and does not control the outer areas. Their mayor cannot block all entry points without causing MAJOR disruption to the locals and the Federal government also.

Be prepared to take the biking/walking routes if the transit is blocked, and be prepared to force your way in and even arrest the DC Police if they decide to interfere!
