The government is not the ally of the people.

That’s why the founders gave us a bill of rights, and guns to enforce them. If you don’t defend your rights, you have none. This is exactly what is laid out in the Declaration of Independence.

Democrats can just say this point blank. Their constituents don't understand or care.
