I think being wrong is enough to be defamatory when the accusations are this damaging, and not putting any effort into ensuring you’re correct is gross negligence, IMO. IANAL, but that’s how I’ve understood it to work.

Sandman was defamed by the media, some of the media was malicious lies, but others were just repeating the other networks and could be considered “just wrong”

I personally don’t believe Lin has evidence, but I do believe he has a source that knows and is reliable, so I do believe Lin is right, but I’m not 100%. I think Lin’s plan is he’s very confident in his source, and he’s trying to goad more information out of the deep state, either through discovery, or scaring people about what he knows and hoping someone flips.

I don’t know if I’m 100% on everything Lin does, like telling everyone to not vote in GA despite what Trump says (though I def understand his reasoning), but the man is clearly fighting the good fight and putting himself at much personal risk. I may be incredulous, but I’m certainly not hating.

You are stating the law as it should be, not as it is. Yes, it should be changed.
