objection isn't in the constitution. congress gave themselves the power out of thin air. all is says is senate president counts votes. fake votes aren't votes. good luck convincing anyone to actually follow the constitution anymore.
so if true, it's just symbolic? they don't want people to see that Hawley & others object to the certification? Pence can still toss the fake ones.
Constitutional law these days basically involves finding new ways to ignore what the words actually say, so who really knows.
If Pence is honest and doesn't count the illegal votes, who's going to stop him? Then it goes to House by state delegation for P and Senate for VP. They can still screw us there if they choose.
The most orderly and sure way to prevent this is to get 3 of the majorly contested states to certify for GOP, (unless there are mass faithless electors, or really faithful to the constitution)
we'll see what happens, but literally everything the liberals try to lawfare around ends up hurting themselves just like changing SCOTUS justices to a majority vote.
