It's sad that 90% of the population are completely unaware that there was an entire Italian Django franchise with Franco Nero in the titular role which mostly ran during the '60s and '70s. Tarantino merely pilfered the name and idea, and blackwashed the main character.
I liked it. It was a popcorn movie, not some deep thoughtful thing. An action flick, set to the background of slavery. It did involve a LOT of dead white people, but he was killing people who were pro-slavery, and wouldn't you know it, when you've got race-based-slavery, most (not all, funny enough!) people in favor of slavery were of the race that OWNED the slaves, not of the race that WERE the slaves.
That said, Jaimie Foxx or however you spell his name, when it came out and he announced to the Saturday Night Live crowd that "Django broke free (that's good,) and killed ALL the White People (Uh oh,)" I decided that he can go fuck himself with an iron stick.
All big production movies are deep, thoughtful things. People are assigned exacting roles from script to camera angle to set color. Each is a professional with a purpose, and that purpose is not to entertain you, but to make you pay money to be influenced, in a subtle way, in the time you're most vulnerable - the time when you've voluntarily suspended all of your attachment to reality, all of your critical thinking, and immersed yourself, open-minded, into a story they've crafted. When you say it's a 'popcorn movie', you admit that they were precisely successful; that you have no idea what they did. And they changed you, just a little bit; nothing noticeable; the long game; death by a thousand cuts. Slowly, subtly, they sculpt culture through entertainment.
The Weinsteins wanted you to see Django Unchained. Hollywood wanted you to see Django Unchained. China wanted you to see Django Unchained. And Django Unchained isn't alone. Awareness is the only antidote.
Consider that racism is division (and that the opposite is seeing humans as humans); this movie endeavored to differ and divide along racial lines in sweeping ways. It even went further, using broad strokes to show imbalanced virtue among blacks and lack of virtue among whites.
It was decidedly divisive, and applied a woke narrative skewed afar even from unfortunate historical truths, when you consider that Trump is a man who sees things like 'all Americans' without regard for races and colors, and who believes in a world where racism can be eradicated without homogenization.
Trump is great because he has little racial awareness. I am scared for fellow pedes who don't understand the importance of race or tribe in a nation. It is great to judge people as unique individuals but totally ignoring or disregarding the concept of race would end up costing conservatives a lot.
Well ignoring and disregarding the concept of race, as policy, is the whole point. Sure, you can't ignore or disregard the racism that is ongoing (like the consistent racism perpetuated by Democrats for as long as they have existed), but the goal is to dismantle that and then no longer regard race at all, just individuals. I'm not understanding your 'cost' outside of that.
I hate the democrats more for their globalist, chaotic and corporatist ideas more than their race-baiting tactics which blacks and other minorities usually fall for. the democrats are more invested in anti-white racism than any form of racism but I only hear conservatives talk about how the Dems sentenced blacks to prison for crimes and how Dems spoiled black family with welfare even though welfare is available to single mothers of all races.
Conservatives or republicans always talk about conserving American traditions and history but conservatives take some Liberal lite policies which are crazy.
They support the following policies:
They support anti-racism even though anti-racism in reality means anti-white. They also support diversity.
they believe that America is a nation of ideas, not people,
they believe that all groups can assimilate to America despite the evidence being contrary.
they believe the problem of blacks' failure deals more with the ideology and politics of Democrats instead of Black leaders. Many white cities are liberal strongholds and they don't have the problem of Black cities even when the white cities are poor.
5)they talk about MLK jr so much while ignoring that MLK Jr was a communist.
They push the narrative"the Dems are the real racists and KKK" when the Left was tearing down statues of confederates,
The concept of race is important to conservatives because we want to conserve the American nation and race = nation of people or group of people. Normie Trump supporters are taking a losing position because they don't realize that "muh diversity and pandering" is what actually kills the nation. A nation by definition needs common heritage, culture, and people to survive;the modern left sees this as racist and wants to destroy it. so the left takes an anti-racist position which is actually an anti-white position.
A lot of conservatives ignore this and they wonder why anti-white propaganda increases. they don't want to improve the birth rates of white people.; instead, they push for migration of much based people from hong kong and other countries to replace ANTIFA and white libs without realizing that the based people children can become more woke and more anti-white than the white libs.
The only time I disagree with the Prez. It was a good movie
Nothing better than watching Django kill some Democrat plantation owners
Plus it gave us the classic Leonardo DiCaprio lauging meme template.
great movie, one of my favorites
Disagree here, great film. One of Tarantino's best.
Tarantino may be a Hollywood liberal douche, but he's made some damn entertaining movies over his career.
I am surprised nobody on the left cancelled or #metoo'd him yet. He makes every chick in movies show her feet in a closeup because thats his fetish.
100%, great director
I agree. I hated that movie
Whats the secret message here? Dicaprio is in prison and ratting on his fellow elites? Kek
Look at the date of the tweet.
Oops. Fail. Or is it.... maybe this op has been 7 years in the making. Gotta keep the larp strong to throw everyone off the trail
Well people usually tag these with Vintage Trump Tweet or something like that.
Hilarious tweet, but I thought the movie was good
I liked it, pretty rare to see a hollywood flick where a german is depicted as a good guy.
Great movie!
But the memes, Mr. President! Think of the memes!

Over the top movie, enjoyed it. Not PC just crazy

How is the movie racist? What is the president referring to? Who is racist in the film? What was this tweet talking about?

Trump pushed race-specific plans like opportunity zones, criminal justice reform, platinum plan, etc.

Thank you for this answer, it's what I was looking for.
