No, we want to reform 230 to where it is actually enforced. If we scrap 230 it will be the end of all platforms including this one. Same with Parler and other alt-tech sites.

Big tech and MSM would benefit greatly from 230 repeal. This site would be inundated with defamation lawsuits regardless how baseless they may be.

They wouldn't benefit at all, they'd be swamped with lawsuits of their own x 10,000.

It would be the biggest windfall in the history of the human race - for the lawyers.

The courts? They'd be clogged and shut down by the volume of suits.

It's an untenable solution, unless they replace 230 at the same time with something more fair. Or just revise/reform it.

You have to understand how many crazies out there drooling at the idea of suing everyone, because the voices in their pickle jar told them to.

yeah but everyone would get $25 in class action suits

Youtube would just purge non verified or non mainstream channels. It’s the perfect excuse to remove the rabble rousing progressive and maga factions. They would only allow sanitized corporate propaganda.

Who cares though? If they shut down thedonald.win we can have thedonald.somethingelse the next day. If they shut down Twitter Facebook or Google they're fucked.

It will only be repealed for large sites. Or telecommunications act which forces equal protection for all users

So it is tru that if 230 is repealed big tech will be liable for all commentary?

Telecommunications Act of 1996 too. Paved the way for Corporate Domination of the media.

Isn’t that the same bill that said “digital signatures count the same as handwritten ones?”

That could be a problematic repeal.

What do you think about the idea that if 230 is repealed big tech will just kick off all political commentary? Is it true that if 230 is repealed big tech will become liable for all commentary?

230 doesn't just cover political speech. It covers all speech. It going away can mean I can sue TheDonald because you said something negative about me. And have standing.

That seems to be a poison pill for free speech

That’s how I’ve view it. I absolutely agree it needs to be reformed
