Yes, and won by sheer brute numbers. Patton was willing to loose dozens of tanks just to knock out one Tiger tank. There is a brilliant quote from a German Officer I cannot fully recall or quote- but the gist of it is, 'where we had one bullet, they had 100-- where we had one soldier lost, they lost 100, and to them it made no difference'.

And to think that was still us being careful. We could've easily swooped right into Hamburg and had Berlin taken within a year, but the casualties would've made Stalingrad look like schoolyard fight. We were right to let the commies take the brunt of it, just about everything else being a huge mistake.
