Now that is a long time coming most British folks are scared of owning a gun in case they go rob a bank or something.

I'd personally love to have a nice big gun collection. But the most you can here are just air guns without serious background checks.

Shotgun license is easy to acquire. All you need for home defence, if required.

Depends on the area as the local police decide and if you even hint you want to have it for defence you'll be blocked straight away.

Firearms license is difficult. You need to be a member of a shooting club, vouched for, time period and police checks etc.

Shotgun licenses are simple. Plus, I don't have a shotgun for defence, I enjoy shooting game and clays.
