We didn't fucking sit back and let Parliament, the media, the Supreme Court, the Civil Service and dozens of quisling politicians stop us. We left the EU.
Meanwhile, in the US, you can't even hold a fair election. Do try and fix that before daring to suggest the UK is 'oppressed'.
You can be cocky when you don't get a police visit for insulting someone on Twitter.
I've never had a police visit, so we shall see. Fortunately for the police I do know the law and I'm very happy to explain it to them, in a calm and polite manner that if necessary will endanger their career.
Meanwhile the politicians in my country can post on Twitter without being shadow banned, having their tweets removed or having labels attached that claim they're lying.

Twitter cares about the UK as much as anyone else. There's no chance of it breaking out of the system. The US as it stands scares them.

There's no "technically" about it. We are out of the EU. We are not in the EU.
As for other issues, they're going to take time to deal with too. Illegal migration is nowhere near as big an issue as legal migration, and we've literally had the ability to control that for.. hmm, under 6 hours.
No, things aren't perfect. They're not perfect anywhere though, and a claim that the UK chooses to be oppressed is frankly silly.
