The hill article is true if there were not 2 sets of electors. If there weren't Pence would be without options.

But go read about the four prior examples of the President Pro Tem deciding elections unilaterally.

The best is Jefferson. He did not win in 1800 but he was the VP. So he walked in, said I have counted the votes and I have decided that I Thomas Jefferson is the next President, there will be no discussion, slammed down the gavel and walked out of the chamber.

No senator and congressman contesting, no discussion, no over ruling Jefferson. The Constitution gives one person, the VP, PLENARY control of the counting, and no court can review or overrule.

Will Pence have the guts?? I pray so.
