When the tribe offered my people checks for lumber sales (from which a private company was allowed to cut down trees on our reservation). when I was conflicted about the money I asked some elders for guidance... One said "it's blood money, meant to shut you up... A small percentage of what was stolen from us. A spot in the face of all who came before who fought for the land and our rights." This stimulus, while needed by a lot... Feels dirty, like bribe money... I sent that check back to the tribe with a note "you can keep your blood money." I will buy maga type stuff and buy local since I can't just send this back. Rant over... Carry on frens
