For example, I have an AirBnB 2 miles away from the main event on Capitol Hill.
I am alone and want to plan to walk with a group. I've never been on a trip like this and I am wondering if, based on experience, I will be able to find a solution in this regard.

Nah never. Also city cabs. Might help to search for thier phone numbers , call a cab.
Just grab an uber to the peace monument , you cat miss the crowd.
We should be carrying state flags , that would help people find each other..atleast in a general sense.
