The right has always prided itself on being the productive, well employed, civilized, peaceful wing of politics in America. Because of this we have painted ourselves into a corner that only threat of civil war can get us out of.
Every time the left gets upset at the establishment, they stage mass, violent riots. Think of the Los Angeles riots in the 90s, think of all the MayDay riots in the 90s and 2000s, think of all the black lives matter riots, think of all the recent antifa riots. They are the squeaky nail, and they do get the oil. We never do any of that stuff.
Additionally, the left backs up their extremists. The left always backs up and supports the people rioting and burning in the streets. They always indicate that there's a pretty good reason for it.
The right abandons our extremists the moment they do anything. If a right-wing dude shoots somebody, says the wrong word, looks at a minority the wrong way, the right denounce him more publicly and more loudly than anybody else.
Think about that poor guy that got railroaded after the Charlottesville incident. His car was surrounded and being attacked, and he tried to accelerate to get away. If he was trying to kill people with his car, he could have done it a thousand times more effectively than he did. That clearly was not his intent. He has been denounced by everybody from Donald trump, to every conservative member of congress. Nobody backed him up. And then we wonder where our fighters are?
If we have learned nothing else during this time. It should be this, we have to embrace our extremists the way that the left does. They are the only ones who are going to fight for us, they are the only ones who have decided they truly have nothing to lose. While the rest of us have good paying jobs, families, houses, boats, planes, vacation homes, there's a small percentage of the right that has nothing. These are our soldiers. We need to have the courage to back them up.
If we don't back them up, then Congress doesn't have to listen to us. The FBI can continue to stamp out "white supremacy" everywhere it sees it.
But, if we don't do it they'll always just dismiss any future action they take as having no risk of reprisal. At this point we don't have any other option. Alone or together, organized or chaotic, if we don't follow through now they'll never worry we will again
Yup. We literally have no other option.
It sure does. And I can't wait to hear all of the establishment conservatives talking about how "we need to be better than that, violence is a tool of leftists. We need to follow Dr Martin Luther King's example of non violent resistance."
Meanwhile the feds will stamp out the last vestiges of right-wing rebellion that remain in America. What pitifully little there is of it. The only thing that will get the right respected at this point is an actual, large-scale threat of civil war. But not a single one of our political leaders has the balls to even come close to suggesting that.
When you're a multi-millionaire, and your employer is the US congress, you probably don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
If any action happens on January 6th, be prepared for every last establishment conservative to denounce it. We have no fighters on the right, we have nothing but mouthpieces and windbags. If conservatives stand up on January 6th, they are going to do it with zero support from anyone inside the mainstream political establishment.
