Please be kind, I'm a very shy ladypede who is terrified of confrontation. This was a big step. My findings are that the impact of the NPC mask is likely minimal, and any effect it might have is completely nullified by having an adorable baby in tow. Comments on mask: 0. Comments on baby: 3.

[Sidebar- I love taking the baby out because he goes maskless with impunity and I think people love him not just because he's cute but because they're happy to just see a FACE. If this were such a deadly pandemic you'd think ONE person would chide me for bringing an infant out into this infected hellscape, but nobody ever has.]

Also worth noting is my "mask" was literally just a gray t-shirt sleeve big enough to fit over my head, with an NPC nose/mouth drawn on in Sharpie. I thought I might take heat for that, but NO, sleeve masks are A-OK.

I think my next attempt will be a mask with words on it, something that might spark conversation like "15 days to slow the spread." Ideas are welcome.

Then I'll try the overtly useless fishnet mask. Maskless venture will be Wal-Mart. I don't plan on buying anything anyway, so getting kicked out is no loss. 😎

Proud of you! Also non-confrontational ladypede. My little protests are wearing the mask under my chin and making someone tell me to fix it, pulling mask down to smile and say thank you to cashiers, and having loud phone conversations in public about covid and cdc stats, as well as Trump and Pedo Joe.

Ooh this is is good. The cashier actually pulled his mask down to make faces at kiddo. I should be doing that constantly...
