When Trump won it was "well we just have to work with the guy for now". When the Dems went full 3rd world on the election, he and others saw a chance to get rid of Trump and get back to business as usual. It's pretty simple.
Honestly I didn’t pay much attention to him until Kavanugh. And even since then not a whole lot. My overall impression before the election had been that he triggers the Dems and gets a crap-ton of judges confirmed, which are good things. Then again, I know that Congress has been pork-central for a few years. Goes to show that it’s not enough to simply have people in power that the Dem leaders hate.
Having once been a resident of KY, I have followed McConnell for years. He's always been super swampy. He does whatever is best for McConnell, and even back then Kentuckians hated the guy. Knowing what I do now about elections and having my current suspicions about them, I am pretty sure how he has been able to remain in power, as well as many others that have always been questionable, like Joe Manchin in WV.
Election fraud 2020 was just so over the top, as I predicted would happen if they tried to steal it, that it has revealed layers of it happening for decades. McConnell has no business anywhere close to the Senate and never did.
I haven't trusted GWP since the last election when they put out a LOT of fake news and sensationalism.
