Pedes, I thought the UK already left the EU last year. Could you explain?

They voted to leave, then passed a bunch of extensions because they couldn’t figure out how to do it (read: swamp-dwelling globohomos slow-walked the process in hopes they could overrule the voice of the people). Eventually they agreed on a time/date.

If Brexit were a candidate voted into office, today was their inauguration.

The U.K. left the EU last year but entered a transition period in which some EU laws and rules and regulations still applied. The transition period has now ended and thus Brexit is complete and the U.K. is fully independent.
