Pede, tears here. Both my grandfathers fought in WW2 and my father sounds very similar. You are not alone. Take solace with your fellow Americans and prayers to your father.

Not one that anyone wants to be in (the club of those who have lost their fathers) but know you aren't alone. And although none of us know what its like to have lost YOUR dad, we know what its like to be on this side of things.
Wishing you peace, talk about your dad all you can, especially these next few weeks with those who also knew him. And dont be in a rush to get through any of the process, it'll take a while.
