Taco Bell yesterday, I gave dirty cash to a glove wearing employee who then gave me back dirty filthy change with those same gloves. And then gave me my food in a stupid plastic container. This is insane.

They want a cashless economy. Covid-1984 is the gift that keeps on giving. Same as getting the unbanked in Fed approved crypto with monthly ´obey your new feudal lords’ stimulus checks.

Any place I go I still use cash and never an issue. Regardless of the dumb signs.

5
CucumberExtract 5 points ago +5 / -0

I figured the coin shortage was "legitimate" because coin sinks like vending machines, arcades, amusement parks, etc are not in use so they didn't have much circulation due to the imprisonments.

4
ClownTamer 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think the coin shortage was real too. Half the country’s afraid to go outside and wants no contact, so their coin usage goes down. A quarter of us live in lefty areas like me and you don’t have much of a choice because most places won’t accept coins or cash now. You add that together and suddenly all the coins that’d normally be going around are chilling at home. Even before all this I personally never use coins outside of laundry. Any coin given to me that isn’t a quarter goes to do in a novelty coin jar.

Same here. Growing up my dad had a 5 gallon water jug he was filling with change. Took him like 6 years to fill it. Was so heavy we needed a hand cart to move it. But he ended up with like 3k in change

1
Forbidden_outcast 1 point ago +1 / -0

My dad did that too. And one time my friends mother said we could have the money on her water bottled if we rolled it up. All pennies and nickels. We bought a trampoline🤪

At some places near me they have a tray. THOUSANDS of people use this tray each week, and tens of thousands of coins rattle around in it. I can only imagine how often they wash it.

31
NomadicKrow2 31 points ago +32 / -1

I work in a doctor's office as an optician. We spray the chair and the table after every patient, and change gloves. I still don't think it's making a difference because they go right out into a large, crowded store and spend an hour shopping.

2
ZerroDefex 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've had a couple cashiers try to give me crap for bringing my reusable bags despite a supposed statewide ban (yet no notice on the door of the store which I point out) and they shut up quick when I ask them why it matters since they claim to be sanitizing the carts before each use and sanitizing the counters and such as well. Had one argue until I asked if she was implying that they weren't really sanitizing things and up spraying down with water to give the illusion of cleaning.

3
NomadicKrow2 3 points ago +3 / -0

If it's Wal-Mart, it isn't water. I used to be a janitor there after I graduated from college with a degree in industrial technology. A manager saw fit to put a broom in my hand. I'm still bitter about that.

But anyway, Wal-Mart uses a chemical called Oxivir. I think that's how it's spelled. Coincidentally, we use the same thing in the doctor's office and they tell us it has to sit for 60 seconds before we can wipe the surface down.

The best thing we can do is just wash our damn hands, try to keep things clean, and avoid sick people, or avoid people if we are sick.

I just think it's hilarious when I see a picture of, say, military leaders in a room, all three have masks on, and none of them have covid. Like they have to wear masks or it's going to spontaneously materialize right in front of them.

1
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 1 point ago +1 / -0

One positive that has come out of all this BS is that restaurants are more proactive about keeping their tables cleaned. It does fuck all for the virus, but I do appreciate not having to sit at a dirty table. Most places used to simply give a cursory wipe with a filthy rag if they could be bothered to clean them at all.

18
WeAreGonnaWin 18 points ago +18 / -0

Cashiers: MOIST VIRUS/BACTERIA NESTS aka face diapers aka masks touched dozens and dozens times per day to adjust them. Those hands will touch every item you buy. You touch those items when packing and unpacking.

Sounds more like a plan to spread the virus flu than prevent it.

2
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 2 points ago +2 / -0

Then they pick up the change that was already "contaminated" by your hands from the counter. It's easy to see why the Branch Covidians love this virus so much, because it allows them to repeatedly and shamelessly demonstrate their intellectual bankruptcy in public. It's both fascinating and appalling watching otherwise intelligent people doing fantastically retarded shit like this.

I hung out all day with a couple of friends last week, outdoors with no masks. They came over to my house for lunch and immediately put their masks on before entering, even though I told them they didn't need to. Then they take them off to eat, while still sitting right next to me and with me passing them food. As soon as they were done eating, yep, they put the fucking masks back on. It was like watching some retarded ritual.

2
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 2 points ago +2 / -0

Another positive from this BS was watching plastic bags make a comeback. Just in the nick of time too because we were running out of trash bags.

2
LoobintheToobin 2 points ago +2 / -0

WE have a mix. It’s silly. Some will let you have paper, some will make you pay for really thick plastic (idfk) and still there is one I can bring in my own bags from home (others find that unsanitary) it’s-a clustered shnit show, but they are getting close to some sort of consistent response... oh wait, maybe not.

2
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, we have pretty much the same mix here. These days I just forgo bags completely and load the stuff back in the cart when checking out. I'm not paying for a bag, especially a paper bag. I always get the free plastic bags when they have them though, but it seems they have run out of them lately.

2

I do side work in merchandising which means I have to visit 30 or 40 public places a week, either grocery stores, bookstores, etc. I get an email any time someone test positive at any of the stores. I’ve been emailed once in the last nine months. I would receive notification from any of at least two different stores or public locations. One person has tested positive at Kroger. One.And this is with hundreds of thousands of false positives nationwide. And believe me people at my stores are 100% not washing their hands and not using their masks properly

Just yesterday at grocery store:

Me, freeface: Which aisle is xyz in?

Clerk, muzzled: Pheffm.

Me: Ten?

Clerk: SHEFFEMN!

Me: Seven? Thanks. I couldn't hear you with that muzzle on.

Clerk: I know, phorry avout vat.

A society where store shelves are empty and people are forbidden see, hear, or touch each other...the commie dream. This is 21st century America.

4
Paul_Revere 4 points ago +4 / -0

THEN you can hear them....

...saying "Mmphfflmnn, fff bplbplbfphh muphle fuff."

YES! I'm slightly hard of hearing in the first place, but even with my hearing aids in my ears, everything is garbled, first by the surgical mask, then by the plexiglass barrier. Which forces both the clerk and I to lean closer to each other.

4
maganifier 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's gonna be funny when maskies start talking like that even when the masks are off.

1
ZeroDeltaTango 1 point ago +1 / -0

when the masks are off

Mythical time in distant future of our imaginings

They already have plandemics 2 and 3, each increasing in death count, lined up and ready to go

Each will be instated to overlap the last

No more freeface = no more church, dancing/ romancing/ starting a family, in-person commerce, individuality, personhood, jobs, everyone dependent on govt assistance = commie utopia

Why would they EVER say OK everyone you don't need masks anymore? That will NEVER, EVER happen. Unless I'm wrong, which I hope I am. I never wear the fucking thing, but the crackdown on that, I'm afraid, is coming. Global medical communism is more powerful than even Trump. Witness the current plandemic and Fauci's emperorship of the world. He's in the driver's seat as far as controlling people's freedom to associate and breathe free. He even successfully forced the president to wear the [unscientific, useless] muzzle.

1
ZerroDefex 1 point ago +1 / -0

Plexiglass plus mask on cashiers with soft voices means can't hear a damn thing while trying to place an order and often the masks hide lip movement so they look like they're just standing there staring at you. Also yes they are often installed in dumb ways that you have to stand to the side and reach around it to pay anyhow because the installer was an idiot.

1
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 1 point ago +1 / -0

These ridiculous things being installed everywhere was another big clue that they were planning on running the scamdemic long term. These things started popping up right around the time they were pushing the "two weeks to slow the spread" propaganda.

35
preferredfault 35 points ago +35 / -0

It's all for show. Every last bit of it. Not a single thing they've done has been effective at stopping any spread of anything.

1
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 1 point ago +1 / -0

The public library where I live no one is allowed in, you have to stand outside in the parking lot in all weather conditions, in a long line, "guarded" by a numbnut security guard, keep 6 feet apart, mandatory muzzled, wait your turn, then when you finally get to the door you enter a very tiny access area to pickup the books you asked for by online access ONLY. You scan you're own books as librarian doesn't want to be contaminated by my handprints. Best yet, when you return the books through an outside chute the books go into "quarantine" for 3 days before being allowed to go back on shelf. This is the most ridiculous fucked up form or reasoning. Like when I handle items in grocery store to look at but put back on shelf, they are not put into quarantine and the very next shopper picks it up and so on. What the fuck is the big deal about a friggin' book at the library like its so special? Even the magazines at grocery checkout that everyone fingers through while waiting in line aren't quarantined. And we pay for public libraries through our taxes for their workers to do dick all, only open 2 hours a day to stand outside in cold and rain and soon snow and not even having access to the building!

Plexiglass is actually quite amazing. It's a petroleum byproduct! Easy to cut, easy to mold just by reaching 400 F, it can be molded into any shape. Its porous, and can be made completely translucent and almost all of the plexiglass we see is made domestically, or at least in North America and not China due to being so easy to make and not requiring slave labor or special resources to produce.

I either step to the side of the plexiglass, or just hold it out of the way.

Pede3 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same, if I can't see the total. The payment terminal is outside of the Plexiglas, or you have to stand to the side to hand over cash in some cases. Security theater.

This is just wishful thinking at this point. They’ve got the general public so brainwashed that they can keep this going forever.

You’re on the front line. Good thing there isn’t a pandemic or all that gross stuff might actually kill people.

Licking money is gross, licking a cc is next lvl gross. I just don’t get that one unless they are trying to be jerks? Or they were addicted to money licking and are trying to go cold turkey?

The left who cries environmentalism and banning plastic straws and shopping bags, are the same left who screem reeeeee about masks not giving a shit that reports estimate over 1.5 billion + will be dumped into the ocean by Jan1st 2021. Total insanity.

2
OconusLurex 2 points ago +2 / -0

I love how some states went from banning plastic shopping bags to banning people bringing in reusable bags from home. Honk.

None of it makes any sense.

Close half the doors at the base exchange. We need people to distance, so we're going to funnel them all through the same entrance and exit.

Or the news story I saw about a hospital wheeling around some mechanized santa camera get up to wish kids merry christmas. So we need to build this stupid fucking robot santa with a screen wearing a hat because "muh outside germs", but its ok to have a camera crew in the rooms to film it? Why not just have the fucking santa instead of the film crew? Fuck it's so STUPID

HAHAHAHA !!! So true. Always liked the guy. Funny how no one in the news or political circles talks about this. All the big box stores, the mail, amazon, all have people interacting and touching yet that doesn't spread the virus? Yea... right...

2

2
WorkLiftSleepRepeat 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've never really liked it, since before COVID.

Did you know your phones are some of the dirtiest items around? Worse than public door handles, toilets, and so on? People rarely clean them.

Then cashiers regularly grab them and so forth, worse is when they use them while using the restroom.

Disgusting enough when people use restrooms and walk out after taking a piss because "Oh, I didn't touch anything" as was regularly the case with a lot of guys in my gym.

Its irritating because a lot of times I set items down pretty quickly when picking up a drink and a snack and make sure that the barcodes are there so they can just scan it without touching anything. But some dumbasses will still grab them, more annoying is when they grab them around the surface where you drink from.

Went into a furniture store. Guy at door asks if he can take my temperature, says it is voluntary. I refuse and explain to him that not all infected people run a fever so a normal temperature does not mean someone is not infected.

1
elrodan 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don’t forget the fact they’re usually measuring temperature with a laser reader, that shit measures the SURFACE temperature of what you’re pointing at, not someone’s internal body temperature. If it’s below freezing outside those results are no where near accurate enough to diagnose ANYTHING.

1
LoobintheToobin 1 point ago +1 / -0

I always wear a hat cause my body runs cold. They took my temp dropping off a buddy for a dental appointment. I was hit from the hat and they shrugged it off and did nothing. Very effective scanning method ya got there.

2
coolhandcuke 2 points ago +2 / -0

I went to a nursery to buy plants and the cashier had to emerge from the plexiglass bunker to check the tag. I imagine she felt like soldiers do when they must leave their bunkers to risk fire.

2
steamedheat 2 points ago +3 / -1

Grocery store cashier halts the lineup between customers, you wait 6 feet apart (or course) until you're called up while she sprays her gawd-who-knows-what spray concoction of chemicals all over the counter belt that you put groceries on! She sprays and sprays as the empty belt goes around full circumference and who knows what lies beneath that belt as the surface disappears before resurfacing. You put your groceries that you take home on this SUPPOSED now sanitary surface that is NOT and to boot your food items now have chemicals covering them.
