i think journalist nowadays are just too dumb to communicate properly. also, heavily influence by what click bait headline will get the clicks. there are many factors that exacerbate the problem

Many of them are genuinely stupid. That's what happens when people aren't hired based on merit- and I'm not talking about race. How many of these clowns get their jobs based on who they are or who they know? Damn near all of them.

This is why Right-wing news is more compelling now- for them to survive they have to be good. If you choose our side, there is no crutch, you have to stand on your own.

check out the peter principle and the dilbert principle as well. becoming a politician is a really easy way for likely incompetent, possibly low status ppl, an avenue to appeal to others as noble figures while convincing others it's true realized by votes. it feeds into narcissism as well as falsely propping up self worth and social status.
