There were six people running against him in the primary. Combined they got about 20% of the vote, that being about 80,000 people out of 400,000 if I'm remembering correctly.

A proper grass roots campaign for a true MAGA candidate could have unseated him with just 200,000 people switching to vote for someone else. That is definitely doable if people put in the work. The problem is that Mitch knows how to play the game and he pretended to be just MAGA enough to ward off any challengers by shoving judges through and making MAGA noises.

Now that he's shown he's a rat through and through, I would hope he gets primaried in 2026, although that's probably a moot point since he will be 84 and I doubt he will even run again.
