If we stopped being slacktivists, and actually involved ourselves in the GOP, we could remake the party in Trump's image.

A 'new' Republican party would be like a prostitute claiming they're clean and reformed and ready to settle down. No thanks. Time to start over.

And a new third party won't ever get more than 5% of the vote.

That used to be an acceptable view. We're in uncharted territory now; the old rules do not apply

Yeah they do. Campaigns cost money. A small third party isn't going to have the 1. Manpower 2. Infrastructure 3. Money to compete.

Tell that to Donald Trump

The Trump campaign utilized the hell out of state and local GOP resources...

Only because that notion of " a third party is useless" still applies back then. He had to tie himself to a party. Now that the uniparty has been exposed, that notion no longer applies. Social media, if reformed, is all a candidate would need

False. Running a campaign is more than just tweeting and YouTube ads. The GOP and Trump campaign paid thousands of people to knock on doors and phone bank. Can a third party afford that? Nope.

Also, the UnIpArTy hasn't been exposed to normies.

No we wouldn't.

This is the same stupid argument that has been going on for decades.

I love Reagan, but he was wrong.

If nothing is done now, 20 years from now we will be looking back and kicking ourselves for not taking advantage of this opportunity.

It's true. Reagan did grant amnesty to illegals and supported gun control.

I was referring to his opinion on a new Party.

He believed in changing the GOP to a conservative Party instead of creating a new party.

That ship has sailed.

When was the last time you went to a local party meeting? Volunteered for a candidate? Became a delegate to an endorsing convention?

The party is run by those who show up, not by Twitter users.

A third party is going to be nothing more than a spoiler.

The libertarian party has been around for almost 50 years. What have they achieved at a national level?

Yep. Them. Starting a new third party would be less successful than them.

Also, who's going to be setting this up? The folks who refuse to volunteer for campaigns or even attend local party functions to help local conservatives for downballot races?

Fuckk the GOP. It won’t exist after Trumps second term. Lion Party will be the new conservative patriot party.

1
The69thBrokage [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

It will though.

1
namechangearoo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not a chance. They’ve all been exposed. The uniparty will not survive. Hell I doubt there will be a Democrat party in 2024 either.

Since the voting booth is now rigged, what difference does it make?

So let's just give up then...

New party makes it easier to assimilate nationalist lefties.

So no. Disagree with you

Welcome to the Lolbertarian Party starring Gary Johnson and Jo Jorgenson

I'll take George Washington's advice, and have NO parties. People should vote for who they want without the stereotypes of a " brand name" party.

  1. I'm not opposed to that, but that's not the world we live in.

  2. Voting split ticket is voting for the people you pick to not accomplish anything.

Used to be, maybe. Times have changed

No, they really haven't. Tulsi is still a commie.
